The meeting discussed the issue of further strengthening human rights cooperation between the ombudsmen of the Turkic-speaking countries.
Nowadays, multilateral relations between the Turkic-speaking countries are strengthening and an important role in this development played by the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States, created on October 3, 2009. In particular, efforts to develop cooperation between fraternal countries in the trade, economic, transport, energy, tourism, cultural and humanitarian spheres, to ensure peace and security in the region are reaching a new level.
The Authorized Persons for Human Rights (Ombudsmen) of Uzbekistan, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and representatives of the National Center for Human Rights of Uzbekistan will work to increase cooperation of ombudsmen in the field of human rights to a new level, which will serve the interests of these nations.
During the negotiations, the parties exchanged proposals on the creation of a platform for ombudsmen of Turkic-speaking countries to consider appeals from citizens, exchange experience, training, implementation of best international practices and the development of the Statute of this platform.
