On March 21, 2025, in celebration of the Navruz national holiday, a Zakovat intellectual game was organized for inmates at Correctional Facility No. 40 (designated as 3rd regional sector) in cooperation with the regional representative of the Commissioner of Oliy Majlis for Human Rights (Ombudsman) in the Syrdarya region.

The competition consisted of five categories of questions, including logic, geography, literature, history, and general knowledge.

A similar event was also held at Pretrial Detention Center No. 8 located in Khovos fortress of the Syrdarya region, with the participation of facility staff and inmates assigned to household duties.

Participants who achieved high scores in the intellectually stimulating and interactive competitions were duly recognized and awarded.

In addition, in connection with the holiday, the regional representatives of the Ombudsman in Syrdarya and Namangan regions participated in Commission meetings held to assess the rehabilitation progress of inmates. At the Commission session held at Correctional Facility No. 40 in Syrdarya region, conclusions were formalized for 47 inmates, and for 9 inmates serving sentences in household services at Detention Center No. 8.

Furthermore, during the Commission meeting at Correctional Facility No. 6 in Namangan region, attended by the Ombudsman’s regional representative, conclusions were issued for 105 inmates.

To ensure meaningful celebration of Navruz among inmates, various national games, sports competitions, festive meals, and concert programs were also organized.
