During the monitoring, the regional representative examined the compliance with international standards of living conditions, food, medical care for convicts, access to lawyers and the conditions created in meeting rooms.

Also the appeals received from the “Ombudsman's Box” located in the pre-trial detention center and installed in places free from video camera lenses, to which all persons detained in the institution have access, were studied.

In individual meetings with the applicants detained in the institution, issues related to the judicial investigation were raised. All appeals received during the monitoring were taken under the control of the regional ombudsman.

There were no appeals on the facts of mental and physical torture, ill-treatment by employees of the institution or on other circumstances contrary to human rights and interests at individual and collective meetings with persons held in the pre-trial detention center.

It should be noted that monitoring visits of the regional representative of the Ombudsman in Khorezm to places of detention of persons with limited freedom of movement in the region are carried out suddenly, without warning.
