At the session, the report of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On the work done on the implementation of the National Strategy of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Human Rights and the relevant points of the" Road Map "was heard.
As was noted at the event, the health sector plays a key role in the development of the state and society, as well as in ensuring the well-being of the people. Today, the medical sphere in our country, the content of its activity is radically changing.
First of all, the quality and effectiveness of primary health care, a healthy lifestyle reached a new level. The material and technical base of multidisciplinary polyclinics and hospitals, personnel potential is enhanced. The role of the Ombudsman Institute in the implementation of the National Strategy of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Human Rights and Road map is increasing.
The meeting also heard the report of the Authorized Person of the Oliy Majlis for Human Rights on the realization of the rights of each citizen to protect health guaranteed by the Constitution. According to Ombudsman, as a result of a pandemic, our people have learned to give more attention to their health. This is evidenced by the analysis of the appeals to the Authorized Person of the Oliy Majlis for Human Rights. This year, appeals of citizens concerned mainly the provision of qualified medical care and problems with the provision of guaranteed medical services, deterioration of well-being after treatment, setting the wrong diagnosis and the subsequent deterioration in the patient's health and other cases, as well as improving the effectiveness of the health system.
In her speech, the Authorized Person of the Oliy Majlis for Human Rights (Ombudsman) said that these appeals were studied together with relevant organizations, along with this noted the cases when some appeals were not substantiated by the lower authorities of the health system, as a result of which the Authorized Person for Human Rights had to submit petitions оn the restoration of violated rights of citizens.
At the meeting, the deputies noted that there are a number of problems in providing the population by safe, efficient and affordable meds. In addition, despite the recognition that the health of the mother and the child is one of the most important tasks of medicine, the mortality rates among mothers and children require significant changes in this area.
The deputies raised the problems faced in this area and noted about the need for timely adoption of concrete measures to solve them.
Following the meeting of the Committee, a corresponding decision was made on the issues on the agenda.
