First of all, the guests were provided with information about the work carried out by the Ombudsman Institute to consider citizens' appeals, monitor penitentiary institutions, prevent torture and cooperate with representatives of civil society and non-governmental non-profit organizations.
At the meeting, the director of the Center for the Rule of Law at the University of Helsinki, Tuija Brax, noted that the main direction in which the center is working is to provide legal assistance to countries following the path of development based on its positive experience. In this context, the Republic of Uzbekistan was singled out as one of the main partners.
During the conversation, important areas of cooperation between the ombudsman institutions of Uzbekistan and Finland were identified.
The meeting was held in the form of a friendly, open dialogue.
