Journalist Kallikhanova was accused of joining an organized group and spreading through social networks materials based on the ideas of separatism and calling on the population to riot. The prosecutor had asked to sentence her to 11 years in prison.
Berdak Genjebaev (born 1996) was found guilty under Article 164, Part 2, Clause “b” of the Criminal Code (deliberate robbery by a group of persons) and Article 227 Part 2 Clause “a” (seizure, destruction, damage or concealment of documents, stamps, seals, forms committed in relation to a passport or identification card, military ID or other important personal document). The court sentenced him to 5 years in jail.
Earlier, the prosecutor had asked to apply a measure of punishment against him by imprisoning for 3 years.
Salamat Kalilaev (born 1976) was found guilty under Article 244, Part 3 of the Criminal Code (Organization of riots accompanied by violence against a person, pogroms, arson, damage or destruction of property, resistance to representative of the authorities with the use or threat of use of weapons, or other items used as weapons, as well as active participation in riots). He got imprisoned for 3 years.
