During the monitoring, the prisoners' living conditions, including beds, washrooms, medical department, kitchen and food storage areas, working conditions and long-term meeting rooms were examined and recommendations were made regarding the identified deficiencies.
Regional Representative of the Authorized Person of the Oliy Majlis for Human Rights (Ombudsman) in the Samarkand region talked with the prisoners individually during the monitoring visit, accepted their appeals and studied their opinions on the conditions in the institution. Their rights and obligations were explained in group discussions.
On this day, 16 small groups of doctors were brought in for medical examination of 280 prisoners in the colony. Specialists checked the health of prisoners with the help of portable mobile ophthalmologist, ultrasound, EKG and laboratory equipment installed on the bus.
During the medical examination, it was determined that three prisoners required surgery. Based on this, a list of prisoners was compiled. On the recommendation of doctors, 3 convicts were provided with medicines. In addition, 2 prisoners were examined and treated at the dental department of the regional clinic.
Also, the regional branch of the National Social Protection Agency provided disabled prisoners serving sentences in a colony settlement with 4 crutches, 2 canes, 1 earphone and 2 wheelchairs.
