At the first stage of the event, the regional health department delivered 2 buses equipped with special equipment and 6 types of portable medical equipment to the colony. From 9:00 am, 16 experienced medical workers examined 218 prisoners and convicts in 14 areas of examination.
In addition, 120 people took part in the second stage of the event, including the Regional Representative of the Authorized Person for Human Rights in the Samarkand region, the deputy khakim - the head of the department for family and women affairs, the head of the colony-settlement No. 37 of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, representatives of the Main Department of Employment and the regional health department. During this stage of the event, collective meetings were held with prisoners and convicts. In these meetings, representatives of the competent authorities spoke about the essence and importance of a number of legal acts, including the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated June 26, 2021 “On additional measures to improve the system for detecting and preventing cases of torture”, the Decree of the President “On measures to improve activities of the Authorized Person of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights (Ombudsman)" dated September 10, 2021 and the Decree of the President dated March 1, 2022 "On measures to improve the system of working with families and women, supporting the mahalla and the older generation."
At the final stage of the event, the Regional Representative of the Authorized Person for Human Rights in the Samarkand region and the deputy khakim of the region - the head of the Department for Family and Women's Affairs jointly accepted the appeals of the convicts. During the reception, 24 applications were received, 10 applicants were given legal explanations on the spot, the remaining 14 applications were accepted for consideration.
The regional representative of the Ombudsman, taking into account the large number of women in the institution, recommended the leadership of the colony-settlement No. 37 to create a “Garden of Mothers”.
