This meeting was organized to familiarize students wishing to become members of the Ombudsman's Club with the activities of the Ombudsman and exchange ideas with them, as well as to encourage active members of the club.

At the meeting, the Authorized Person of the Oliy Majlis for Human Rights (Ombudsman) Feruza Eshmatova acquainted students with the main activities of the Ombudsman Institute.

It is noted that ombudsman institutions have now been introduced in 200 countries of the world and they operate as an independent organization. Among the CIS countries, on February 23, 1995, Uzbekistan was one of the first to introduce the institution of an ombudsman. Over the past period, the the Authorized Person for Human Rights of the Oliy Majlis (Ombudsman) has taken a worthy place in protecting the rights and freedoms of citizens, including those held in closed institutions with limited freedom of movement. She also noted the signing of memorandums of cooperation with the national human rights institutions of a number of foreign countries.

The Ombudsman is an independent organization that reports on human rights violations in the country. Cases of violation of the law are determined on the basis of an analysis of appeals received from citizens. Our task is not only to consider appeals, but also to identify the causes of problems and systematically eliminate them.The Ombudsman's right to legislative initiative is an important tool for filling the identified gaps in legislation, said Ombudsman Feruza Eshmatova.

During an open discussion, students and undergraduates of the Tashkent State Law University received answers to their questions.

The meeting, which was held in a sincere mood, ended with the awarding ceremony for the most active student members of the Ombudsman's Club. Abdullaeva Diyora, 1st year student of the Faculty of Public Administration, Sultonova Dinora, 4th year student of the Faculty of International Law, Bobomurodova Barno, 4th year student of the Faculty of Public Law, Saidaripova Dinara, student 4th year students of the Faculty of International Law, were awarded for active participation in the activities of the club.

At the event, it was noted that members of the Ombudsman's Club, working with specialists from the Ombudsman's Secretariat, after classes can hone their skills and practice in such areas as working with appeals, participating in receptions of citizens.

The meeting was full of questions and answers, in the form of a free dialogue.

It should noted that students of 2-4 courses and masters of 1-2 courses of the TSUL can be admitted to the "Ombudsman's Club".
