Citizens' appeals raised such issues as social assistance, housing, reinstatement, disagreement of a citizen with a court verdict, monitoring of penitentiary institutions, access to appointments with heads of state organizations and others.
Every citizen who came to the Ombudsman this day was received and listened to. Citizens wishing to apply on issues that are not within the competence of the Ombudsman were given legal explanations.
It should be noted that citizens who wish to file an appeal on behalf of another person often come to the Ombudsman's office. We remind that Article 6 of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Appeals of Individuals and Legal Entities” stipulates that the appeals submitted through the representatives of the applicants must be accompanied by documents confirming their authority. Therefore, in such cases, persons wishing to file applications must present a “power of attorney” (attorney’s warrant) to act on behalf of another applicant.
It should be noted that citizens can directly contact the Regional Representatives of the Authorized Person for Human Rights in the regions. You can get information about their names, tasks, appointment dates, addresses and phone numbers through the ombudsman.uz website.
