Citizens’ Appeals Are Being Addressed On-Site and Resolved Positively
The Сommissioner of Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights (Ombudsman) received a complaint from a graduate of the Mehribonlik orphanage in Tashkent city-an orphaned young woman-who reported that her social rights had not been fulfilled for the past two years.

According to her appeal, in 2022, as she was preparing to graduate from Mehribonlik Orphanage No. 22, she was registered in an online queue for housing allocation. Although her turn had come, the issue remained unresolved, and her appeals to various institutions yielded no result.

The Ombudsman took the appeal under special supervision. The regional representative in Tashkent city formed a working group consisting of relevant specialists, and the situation was investigated on-site.

All necessary documentation was collected, and appropriate measures were prepared. As a result, the applicant was granted housing in a multi-storey residential building in the Yangihayot district, where she is now living.

Additionally, throughout the past week, appeals regarding violations of citizens' personal, economic, and social rights were reviewed on-site by the Ombudsman’s regional representatives in Namangan and Andijan regions, as well as in Tashkent city.

Some of the issues were resolved immediately on-site, while others are still under investigation, with documentation being collected. Based on the outcomes, relevant enforcement documents will be prepared.

Reminder: The Ombudsman receives appeals through in-person and mobile receptions, postal mail, the Virtual Reception of the President of Uzbekistan (www.pm.gov.uz), the ombudsman.uz website and mobile application, and via “Ombudsman Boxes” located in public institutions.
